This class will be a hands-on workshop tailored to the fiddlers that attend. It’s a multi-level class where we’ll learn from each other’s questions and trying out different approaches to technique on the instrument. We’ll cover how to play with ease, improve tone and add some special sauce to the music we make. We can also discuss bowing, how to play with others, pick up a melody from thin air, play a break, regional fiddle styles (Old-Time, Bluegrass, Celtic, Cajun, etc…) or how to back up singer-songwriters. We’ll delve into whatever subjects interest the group. This will be a fun, relaxed class and where we dress up some common tunes along the way. We’ll strive to finish with more playing confidence, tips of things to work on, & more motivation to fiddle!
