This class is for making music and discovering ways to genuinely connect. As we play selections from various traditions, we can feature singing and instrumentation from the group attending. Everyone can join-in to play songs & tunes from the rural American string bands. Additionally, the group will explore Quebecois, Celtic, New England and African-American traditions. Tips for listening, practice and performing will be offered. With years of experience as a performer, John can give some directions for ensemble intuition, playing by ear, key selection, transposition, harmonizing, etc. All instruments and voices are welcome.
