Drop D tuning combines great qualities of both standard and alternate tunings. While most chord shapes will be familiar, you’re often able to play arrangements using less complex fingerings, with more open strings. We’ll look at chord structures and also take several specific tunes from contemporary and traditional folk music, playing in both fingerstyle and flatpick styles.
