There are many things that can hold people back from joining in the fun of jamming with other musicians – not knowing the chords, not being able to “speak” the rhythm, not knowing where to go to solo or take a break, not being comfortable with not being in control, not knowing how to fit in, etc…In this class, we will learn simple and efficient ways to remove or get around these obstacles. Each day we will play songs together and introduce new rhythms including blues, country, bluegrass, reggae, New Orleans 12/8 and the clave. You’ll also learn simple strategies to find what you need quickly enough to use it. Everything will be taught in layers to provide all levels and all instruments a place to fit in.
