This course will cover the basics of the Texas Blues. We will look at songs of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Mance Lipscomb, and Little Hat Jones and break down their picking patterns. We will focus on getting your thumb and other fingers moving as independently as possible. This is a technique class, not a repertoire class. The goal is to give specific feedback and exercises to each student so they can progress. This will help you unlock unlimited options as a guitarist.
Knowledge of open position chords recommended (C, G, D, E, F, A, B7). Chord diagrams will be available.
