The key of E is a favorite of guitarists but often uncomfortable territory for mandolinists. I’ll teach you one-, two-, and three-string patterns for the E blues scale, mandolin fingerings for classic blues guitar riffs, double stops, arpeggios, and chord shapes. Then we will practice moving the simple patterns to cover the entire neck of the mandolin in the key of E. There will be jamming, blues songs, discussion of tremolo and other right-hand techniques, blues mandolin history, and performance ideas.
Great for guitarists learning mandolin, mandolinists who play with guitarists, and also open to fiddle players interested in a different way of understanding the neck.
