The first class will cover basic fingerpicking, barre chords and an introduction to open tunings. We’ll start with the repertoire of artists like Robert Johnson and take it from there. The second class will explore more advanced techniques and an introduction to slide. We’ll be extending the possibilities of basic fingerpicking through the repertoires of artists like Blind Lemon Jefferson and Blind Blake.
You will get the most out of these classes if you can already play basic chords, some barre chords, and can play up the neck a bit. If you can’t fingerpick I can probably teach you the basics in the first class. Bring capos, tuners, any finger or thumb picks you currently use (there will be no flat picks used in the class), extra strings and something to record the lesson on.
