A one-session introduction to improvisation, with ideas to expand your creativity and learn to make music in the moment.
We will use Major and minor pentatonic scales and the blues scale to create improvisations over a 12-bar blues. Learn ways to use rhythm, tone, and dynamics to build a solo and tell a musical story. Learn the different sounds that come from the Major and minor pentatonics over the same chords. It is important to be completely in the moment when playing. We will learn ways to trust in the music and let go in order to become a part of the stream of the music.
